This week we finally hit the last weekend of the regular Super League season before we start the new adventure of the super eight series & with the eight qualifying teams decided it’s now a case of who gets which spot within the eight.
Here are this weeks previews.
FC v. WARRIORS
After securing a top 8 spot at the expense of their city rivals spirits will be high when the Pies visit the Cod Bowl.
With 2nd spot still in their sights the visitors will be determined to secure the win needed & put the pressure on ST’s.
A win for the hosts could see them finish 6th should other results go their way but they are missing some of their better players and in an already average squad that will cost them.
A tough game but the visitors should prove to be too strong and for 24hrs at least take 2nd spot.

SAINTS v. KR
After missing out on the top 8 last week the visitors arrive with nothing to play for which on paper could make them a dangerous opponent.
For the hosts if they win they will secure 2nd &they will also go top until Sunday at least and put the pressure back on Leeds.
Both teams can attack but defensively the Robins have really struggled at times this year more so away from home and I think it will cost them again this week.
An entertaining clash in prospect but ultimately a solid home win.

TIGERS v. WOLVES
It’s the game of the weekend and Sky in their infinite wisdom aren’t showing it live.
Cas are chasing 4th and the visitors are looking to build confidence before next weeks CC semi-final.
It really should be a belter and with the Giants who sit 4th on points difference playing the whipping boys from Wakey a home win is a must.
The Wire have struggled for consistency all year but at times they have shown they can beat anybody in the league.
It really is a 50/50 game but I do think home advantage will swing it Cas’ way but it will be close.

GIANTS v. WILDCATS
After a huge morale boosting win in France last week the Giants will be determined to secure 4th spot when the bottom team come to town.
Wakey have improved since they changed Coaches and shuffled their squad with departures and arrivals but I don’t think they’ve improved enough to upset the odds this week.
It might be a contest for the first half but I think the Giants will eventually take control of the game & secure 4th spot.

RHINOS v. DRAGONS
With top spot on their hands I expect the Blue n Amber to be switched on from the off and take the game away from the enfant terrible`.
We all know the visitors are a poor team away from home and when you throw in injuries to key men it should be a comfortable home win.
However we all know what happened last year in the play-offs so I don’t expect the Rhinos to take them lightly.
Confidence will be high after last weeks demolition job on the Devils at HQ and I expect a comfortable home win once we take control upfront.

VIKINGS v. DEVILS
With both teams missing out on the top 8 all they are playing for is to build confidence for the middle 8 series.
We saw last week that all is not well amongst Dr Gobsh##es expensive failed play thing and I doubt they can turn it around within 7 days.
The Vikings have a good home record and will look to end on a high before the split and I expect them to be strong.
