 100%er |
The shocking weather forcast for tonights World Club Challenge didn't materialise with light rain greeting the player onto the pitch. One storm hadn't materialised and the twenty-five thousand plus Rhinos supporters jammed into the 'limited leg room' seating at Elland Road hoped that the storm wearing purple and white would also be a damp squib.
It was north versus south as the champions came face to face with only one side going to take home the silverware.
We bring you all of the action here......

i have never been so ashamed of our our sport as i was tonight, the ablosute disgust i have for the refereing is too strong for words that be be put on a page like this , we did not play great i know and a more experianced player than watkins might have scored, Mr Bluey should make a serious report to the rfl and consider bringing the team off if the future referees ingnore the blatent rules which are being ridiculed by other teams. And MR H I AM PREPARED TO COVER COVER THE LOSS OF PROFITS IF YOU DO. |

The Kiwi said: "It frustrated everybody, but well done to them. It is a skill and they are very skilled at it.
"Our referees aren't used to that level of technique and our boys got very frustrated.
THIS IS WHAT THE BALD ONE THINKS WHAT A JOKE !!!!!! |

Gutted! Ok first up Silverwood is a tit! Secondly Watkins bombed 2 clear cut scoring chances that probably Scotty would have taken or at least one of them. Shame for the lad but lets hope he learns from his mistakes. Finally, yes we lost, but being honest I feared a mullering before the game so to put in the performance the lads did is a result in itself. Oh and guess what Bailey looked light weight again. Peacock, Eastwood and Kylie looked good as did Kirke. Buderus looked good as well and Burrow and McGuire were brilliant. Shame we lost Sinny lets just pray it's not a long lay off. Well done the lads on another night it would have been ours! Silverwood is a disgrace let's ensure the appropriate reception for him next time he comes to Headingley!! |

This was a great performance from the Rhinos , they really stood up and it does make you wonder whether the fear of injury before this game has kept them quiet for the first few games. Its hard to decide what agenda silverwood had before this game. He penalised the Storm for nothing and us for everything and it was ultimatley the 2 points he game them after KS said something which lost us the game. I felt sorry for Watkinns as I firmly believe that Scotty would have scored in the same circumstances.
Lets hope Sinny isnt too bad and I noticed webby got a knock at the end as well. Great game and a stirling performance Well Done the Rhinos. |

Do we feel cheated or have we been beaten by a smarter coach/team? Silverwood was poor but how much was it ...Bellamy 'play the game our way' pressure on the ref. all the superleague refs seem to allow Aussie teams to bully them. IMHO the one ref. who didn't allow Aussies to bully him was Ashley Klein. Well done the lads on a top effort, hold your heads up boys you did us proud. Surely must be coming round to time to get JP & Keef in the HOF? |

Well thank god that is over. I'm not saying this because we lost but of the 4 titles to win this has to be the fourth and it seems a real weight round our shoulders - well it has this year. As far as the refereeing goes, surely before the game it was agreed what interpretation of the law at play the ball would be applied. Once agreed you would have to say that they were more skilled at it than we were. Having said that, it doesn't help when the ref seems to have decided to play Aussie rules when we are attacking but superleague rules when they have the ball - farce. No one has mentioned that they scored their first try because we were not ready to defend after they played a quick penalty. Having Sinny and JP off the pitch at the time probably contributed to that. I think it is a bit harsh on Watkins to say Scotty would have scored those tries - one perhaps! Anyway lets get back to winning on Friday. Hopefully the weather will allow us to play our best. Cheesey - thought would had disappeared for good. Funny how the first time you reappear you have a go at the coach. Leave the guy alone. He has proved beyond doubt that he knows what he is doing when it comes to coaching the team and he is what you would expect on record - a diplomat. Surprised you having been moaning before now! |

Sorry to loose, but still proud and very encouraged by what I saw. We played the Aussies best, crossed their line more times than they crossed ours and lost by a slim margin. Certainly no disgrace. An average start to the season so far, but with what I saw Sunday we should look forward to greater things to come this year. There is little wrong with our team. Playing in snow and bad weather in the four previous games is certainly a leveler. So no panic from me! How unfortunate the attitude to knock Kallum Watkins. Get behind him, he's young, and did well,(No one can say that Donald would have scored) he is money in the bank for Leeds. A rising star. Don't worry be happy. Cheers! |

Ah tim how nice to hear from you, i havve been around and i have if you care to look made comment prior, however i would be really good for the leader to show a public support for his team instead of the platitudes of indiference that exhust from his mouth. Just look at how the team lost direction when sinny left the pitch! |

Following emailed to Bootsnall, unsurprisingly they did not care to comment to this level:, 'Regarding Hep Cahill's spear tackle on Buderus. This incident was not seen by any official. You can clearly hear the touch judge, Tony Martin say to Mr Silverwood, 'Have a look at the screen when your talking to me'. The Ref did have a sneaky look, however had been told I assume by the video Ref who the instigator was. I want to know are we going to get an honest approach on how these incidents are being managed? A sly look at the screen, a word in someone's ear is unacceptable. I would not mind if this debacle had resulted in appropriate action being taken on such a cowardly off the ball challenge. Unfortunately no action was taken.
Secondly Mr Silverwood told Keith Senior to 'understand the surrender rules'. The most experienced player in Super league now has to learn the rules? Senior had got to his feet, but was prevented from playing the ball.
The allowed spoiling tactics at the play the ball was a disgrace, please do not say it is a skill and they where better at it. There is no skill in resting and staying on someone longer.
Mr Silverwood was unrecognisable from someone I have seen in the middle on many occasions and on a regular super league match would have penalised that team on almost every situation. The utter frustration and confusion by the Leeds players and I would add also in some of the commentary was palpable and there for all to see.
If you say these are International rules, how come this was not an issue when I went to Elland Rd last year, or the year before?
Would the recent Warrington v Wigan game had been the spectacle it was if it was referee'd in this way?
If playing the game this way is the way forward for rugby league then I can not imagine being a true supporter for much longer.' |
